On March 18th a group of about 50 participants gathered at Nelsons, located in the middle of the Tech University of Vienna, to partake in the very first STARTup Hour.

It was the first stop for the participants of the LIFT@Austria conference, exploring enabling spaces and organizations in the region. The attendees were from Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, UK, Hungary, Belgium, US, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Belgium and Ecuador – making it a somewhat international gathering.

The innocent souls were put through a blistering hour of pitching, forming teams, working and presenting their own ideas at a rapid pace! Welcome, to STARTup Hour #1!

The pitchers all got tickets for the STARTup Live event in Vienna, June 11-13!

It was a very interesting experience, condensing our startup event to one hour, and we believe that we can use this format for some very focused networking/feedback events in the future.

Eduvent combines the words “education“ and “event“. It is a service that provides professional searching and registration for educational events like a mathematic lecture, a discussion meeting that deals with globalization or a recruiting event of a consulting company. Eduvent is the perfect link between young, involved people and excellent events. We communicate educational offerings in a fast and easy way, tailored to the individual needs of the seekers and suppliers.
Our platform promotes further educational and carrier events addressing students and young professionals, no matter if they are just looking for a single event or want to be regularly updated. Our service substitutes the costly and time consuming search on websites and a flood of annoying newsletters from different hosts.

Hosts are enabled to promote and administer their presentations, workshops, lectures, symposia and similar events in a central, fast and easy way. Further upcoming features will be a ticketing service and a facebook application.
All founders of eduvent are students, who met at the startup weekend in Vienna.
